About us

Pacific Settlement Support Services, a first of its kind service in New Zealand, was founded and set up in June 2019 by;
Laura Keil-Hall, Zeprina Fale and Mandy Siitia.

All three women are Samoan by ethnicity, speak the language proficiently, serve in their local churches and communities as well as raising children and helping their extended families.

They have a vast network of Pacific influencers and mobilisers they can collaborate with to reach across the various Pacific groups.

They saw the need for this service based on their own shared migration experiences.
This is work that some of our Pacific Island families have been doing since the 1950s and for them it's continuing that work.

What Pacific Settlement Support Services want to do with their services, is to position Pacific peoples for prosperity and give them the best
 start possible with life in New Zealand.

Because such a service hasn't existed and it’s never been done before, Pacific Settlement Support Services are looking to flex and adjust according to the needs of the people.
Their programme is delivered in a way that is culturally relevant, incorporating Pacific cultural values and being spiritually sensitive to the people they serve.

The service was initially offered by charging a small fee, and was heavily funded by the founders themselves including volunteering and investing their own time and resources to get it up and running.

Recently, Pacific Settlement Support Services was fortunate to receive the support of Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Foundation with funding to help support it's work.
This funding has allowed for Mandy Siitia-Momoisea and Loa Tuia to dedicate and focus their time to deliver the service, meet and visit clients and provide resources.
This support has also allowed for the service to expand it's reach and provide pre-migration services in Samoa.

Our services were delivered and coordinated by this team of three (3) professional and highly qualified Pacific women with combined 45 years of corporate and government experiences, community work and are now business owners.
All have been directly impacted by their respective migration journeys as Pacific women, which is one of the main motivations for setting up and collaborating to provide this service.
The Pacific Settlement Support Services is a Social Service initiative made possible by the collaboration of Bluespur Charitable Trust and LKH Consulting with infrastructure support by The Pacific Business Hub.
